“A Secret Space”
We are very excited to announce our outside Reading Cabin.
We had lots of entries for our Reading Cabin Design Competition, run by our School Councillors and Rights Respecters. There were lots of fantastic ideas, but the chosen theme was Space, and the winning designs were by Oscar and Oli. After choosing the winners the children then decided to name the cabin ‘A Secret Space’.
This has been made possible thanks to the PTA who funded the cabin, our caretaker Mr Ray and James, one of our reception parents for building the cabin. A big thank you to the charity Acorn Book Club who have supported us in decorating the cabin based on our chosen theme and filled with new books for the children to enjoy!
The children will be celebrating with a grand opening of ‘A Secret Space’ on Friday morning and the cabin will be open after school for parents and carers to have a look. The cabin will be used during playtimes and lunchtimes to offer a reading area for children on the playground, we are certain the children will love using it.
This exciting project continues to support our ongoing focus on reading and enjoyment of books!
