"There is always room for a story that can transport people to another place"

J K Rowling

At Alexandra Infant School we firmly believe that English is at the heart of all learning. By equipping children with the ability to listen, speak, read and write confidently, they will be able to access all areas of learning and will have the solid foundations to grow as confident independent learners. Speaking, listening, reading and writing is embedded across all areas of the curriculum. At Alexandra Infant School teaching takes place through a creative, broad and balanced curriculum. This ensures that children are exposed to, through theme based learning, a rich variety of language, both in the spoken and written form. Children enter Alexandra Infant School with varying levels of linguistic and fluency skills. Through comprehensive planning, each child is provided with a personalised platform to develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing throughout their infant years.
