At AIS, we are committed to ensuring that the emotional and social needs of all our children are met, as well as supporting the development of children’s health and wellbeing, self-esteem and confidence. We provide a broad and balanced PSHE curriculum through our agreed PSHE whole school approach. We nurture and support Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development in young children and promote fundamental British Values. We support children in developing the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to lead confident, healthy and independent lives and become responsible citizens. We recognise that our school vision is crucial to this learning and should be at the heart of whole school development. It is important for us to deliver this curriculum in a range of inspiring ways so that the children are able to: -celebrate differences and multi-cultural diversity -develop crucial life skills, such as building independence, confidence and teamwork -broaden their opportunities and experiences through a range of indoor and outdoor learning, -access the curriculum through a range of multi-sensory, practical and hands on experiences -engage in creative, topic based discussions that provoke their curiosity and understanding of local and global environmental issues -provide a safe and welcoming vocabulary rich environment to extend communication skills and develop their ability to ask questions.
